WHAT ARE “THE WAVES”:
W.A.V.E. stands for Western Access Video Excellence. This amazing Awards program is part of the Western States Regional Conference and Trade Show for the Alliance For Community Media (ACM). This contest is open to residents of CALIFORNIA, NEVADA, COLORADO, HAWAII, NEW MEXICO and ARIZONA.
WHAT IS THE “ACM”:
The Alliance, as it is known, is a national network of affiliate TV and Radio stations and Public Access advocates whose mission is to promote free speech and greater civic engagement through Community Media. We support public media outlets so communities can find relevant local content from respected sources. The “ACM West” region represents hundreds of local affiliate stations from the six western states.
WHY CHOOSE THE WAVES:
By competing in the WAVE AWARDS, you add your voice to thousands of others interested in Public Access to the media. By submitting, you are allowing this non-profit affiliate network specific access to your film, TV show or web series. This GREATLY increases your visibility and potentially exposes many, many more to your unique voice.
